Boracay is a beautiful tropical island in Philippines located at just an hour's flight from Manila. This island offers wonderful sites for water sports activities such as wind surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, jet skiing, boat tours, kiteboarding, and skimboarding. Some of the great attractions at this island include White Beach, Puka Beach, Baling Hai Beach, the Bat Cave and so on. With good people, friendly atmosphere, and great Boracay hotels, this island is drawing a large number of tourists every year.

Boracay island comprises of barangays of Manoc-Manoc, Balabag, and Yapak and is under the administrative control of the Philippine Tourism Authority in coordination with the Provincial Government of Aklan. Till the 1970s, this island was not a great place of interest for tourists. Tourism here began to develop in the 1980's and slowly this island gained popularity amongst backpackers.

At present, this destination holds great importance as a popular tourist attraction of one and all in Philippines. This island presents good facilities for water sports activities such as wind surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, jet skiing, boat tours, kiteboarding, skimboarding, etc. Some of the great attractions at this island include White Beach, Puka Beach, Baling Hai Beach, the Bat Cave and so on.

The nearest airport to Boracay Island is in Caticlan, which is just a short boat ride away from the island. This airport is served by several airlines, most flying from Manila. One can also reach this island via boats operated by MBRS. These boats leave Manila's port for Caticlan either once or twice a week, depending on the season. Buses are also available regularly throughout the day from Cubao, Manila for Mindanao, passing Caticlan. The journey takes about 12 hours.

There are many good hotels offering different facilities to suit the requirement and comfort of tourists. Some of the beach front hotels even offer lounge chairs to relax and lounge around. Discovery Shores, Fridays, Seawind Resort, Patio Pacific, Boracay Mandarin, Tides etc. are some of the good hotels in Boracay.
